Indiana Planned Parenthood is selling gift certificates this year for Christmas. These gift certificates can be used for anything including abortions. Are we now at a point where it is considered morally acceptable to fund an abortion as a gift? Abortion is big business today. Indiana Planned Parenthood performed around 5000 abortions last year. With the cost of an abortion costing up to $900, Planned Parenthood is making tons of money on death. This is not a respectable organization and has not been from its beginning. The website guides minors how to go about getting an abortion if they don’t have parental consent. Recently at the Bloomington, IN clinic, a nurse informed a woman pretending to be 13 to lie about the age of the father. It makes one wonder how many other times they encourage women to lie.

Planned Parenthood from the outset has been about getting rid of babies thought to be less valuable. Margaret Sanger, the founder, was heavily involved with the promotion of eugenics. That being the idea of creating a better race by limiting reproduction of those thought to be inferior. Blacks, Jews, immigrants and anyone considered to have low value were the early targets of Planned Parenthood. Sanger’s views were very similar to those of Hitler. Today people embrace this organization and it policies that were formed from hate. Yet it are those who oppose Planned Parenthood who are labeled as haters today.

As Christians, we must continue to oppose Planned Parenthood. While they want to offer death for Christmas, we have the gift of Life to give. We are called to care for the poor and persecuted. Christians need to stand for those Planned Parenthood look to profit from. They have the message of death, darkness and despair. We have the knowledge of the One who can deliver them from it all. Jesus conquered death and brought light to the darkness. He is the hope for all who despair. Share this message of hope to those around you. Even those who have already had their lives changed by abortion, can find hope in the Savior. It is never to late to let go of the pain and guilt. 200o years ago, Jesus came to die on a cross. He died for all of our sins no matter how bad we think they are. He was buried and 3 days later He arose and conquered death. We have the Light that conquers darkness. Now, what are we going to do with it?

Matthew 5:14-16;  14 “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; 15 nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 “Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

Biden on Abortion

Sen. Biden was recently on Meet the Press. Midway through the interview, Sen. Biden was asked a question about when life begins. During his answer he said he was prepared to accept the teachings of his church, the Roman Catholic church. He said he was prepared to accept that life begins at conception. All good answers up to this point. But he then goes on to say that is his personal judgment, and he would not impose that on others in a pluralistic society. That is the worst possible answer I could have heard. Sen. Biden is basically admitting that abortion is the taking of life, because he believes life starts at conception. But he is unwilling to tell others that they can’t take that life in our pluralistic society. So he is perfectly fine with someone making the choice to take innocent life. I have more respect for the person who contends that human life starts at a later point. He goes on to say that he doesn’t support public funding of abortion because that flips the burden. That is great, but his running mate does support public funding of abortions. In the long run, I think Sen. Obama’s opinion would win out if they are elected.

Sen. Biden has a very slippery slope he is walking on. If the taking of human life is a choice he can live with here. Where does he draw the line?  Euthanasia is not far behind. Does taking the life of the elderly or chronically ill also become a choice?  When we get to the point of devaluing life to a choice, anything is possible. We have become a throw away society where the only thing that matters is self. If having a baby is inconvenient, get rid of it. If being married is inconvenient, get a divorce. If the pastor speaks too tough, go to a different church. We need to recognize that there is a moral right and wrong. We need to recognize that our morality should be set to the standard of God, not our elected officials. Our Supreme Court has in the past, upheld slavery and determined that blacks did not count as a full person. Do you want them telling you what is right and wrong?
